Terahertz (THz) frequency spectrum stand in a unique band, it can not be clearly belongmicrowave band or bands of light,so microwave or optical theory which has been provened can notbe directly use in the study.THz has a wide range of applications,the research has become evrypopular. In this thesis, a new type of artificial terahertz electromagnetic wave absorbing material isstudied by using the principle of equivalent circuit for analysis and interpretation of its absorbingmechanism. The main research contents of this paper:(1) This thesis introduces the basic concepts and theories of the THz technology,frequencyselective surfaces and artificial electromagnetic materials, as well as some of their basicproperties.(2) Design the basic mechanism of artificial electromagnetic materials absorbing devicewhich is based on frequency selective surface, analysis of the traditional structure such ascross unit, ring unit, Y-shaped unit, square loop unit of absorbing device structure size、theincident angle and the incident wave polarization for the absorbing performance.(3) Design of a new type of artificial electromagnetic medium THz dual-band absorber basedon frequency selective surface structure. The resonance frequency were1.5THz and3.0THz, from0°to60°range of the incidence angle, the absorption rate of the absorbercan reach90%or more, whether the absorber in the TE polarization and TM polarizationmode has a good stability.(4) Established a equivalent circuit model of the new type of artificial electromagneticmedium THz dual-band absorber based on frequency selective surface structure. Extractthe total original value of the equivalent circuit parameters The result simulation verify thecorrectness of the equivalent circuit, it provides us with a reference in engineering design.The simulation model used in this thesis is a full-wave simulation software HFSS simulation,measured as equivalent circuit simulation using ADS software.
