Gasoline blending is an important process of gasoline refinery process. In this process,the various components of the oil are mixed in certain proportion and quality index, thenvarious grades of oil products are made successfully. The quality index of oil componentsdirectly influences the quality of refined oil. Gasoline blending process is a kind of typicallycomplex industrial process with the characteristics of multiple variable and nonlinear.This paper takes gasoline blending process as the research object, carrys out the gasolinepipeline blending optimization control research, it was mainly divided into three aspectsincluding optimal control method, control system, hardware–in–the-loop simulation. the maincontents are follows:(1) Proposing the composition of two layer structure of gasoline blending optimizationcontrol method which are optimization setting layer and the loop control layer. Optimizationsetting layer comprises the process calculation model and optimization algorithm. The formeris to establish the blending matching model of gasoline blending process through analyzingthe blending relation of octane, vapor pressure and other components in blending process. Thelatter is to get formula by using the sequence quadratic programming method (SQP). Thebottom control loop uses PID control method to control the underlying component oil flow.(2) Designing and developing gasoline blending optimization control system based onthe existing equipment conditions, combined with object model by using Siemens S7-300PLC. It includes the design of hardware and the development of the software.(3) Developing hardware–in–the-loop simulation platform of gasoline pipeline blendingoptimization control system combined with the control function of S7-300PLC, powerfulcomputing ability of Matlab, the programming function of VB and various interface functionof WinCC. The platform is consisted of Siemens S7-300PLC controller, optimal settingcomputer, monitoring computer and model computer. This platform accomplishes the researchof hardware–in–the-loop simulation of gasoline pipeline blending optimization control systemand improves the precision of simulation and makes up the lack of field test.
