Petroleum drilling is becoming more and more scientific and detailed, and itrequires that drilling mud operations become more informationized and intelligentized.During drilling process, mud engineers need do a wide variety of work which iscomplicated, and they often uses all kinds of application software to help themselvesmanage, count, analyses, and query drilling mud data, make calculations about mudhydraulics, guide operation and aid decision. In order to provide a comprehensive,convenient and practical service platform for mud engineer in wellsite, this paperstudies and develops the Integrated Drilling Mud Engineer Assistant Software System(IDMEASS), which is integrated with lots of functions, such as mud datamanagement, computer-aid engineering calculation, decision-support on drillingproblems and accidents, manual reference, system maintenance, etc. First, the overalldesign on architecture, function and database structure is built. Second, the content ofmud data management is classified scientifically and reasonably. Third, it focuses onthe calculation model building of mud rheological parameters and cuttings cleaning inhighly-deviated well. In addition, decision support model on drilling problems andaccidents is built based on Case-Baesd Reasoning (combined with Rule-BasedReasoning). At last, C#language is used to realize the key modules of IDMEASS,incorporated with Access Database on Microsoft Visual Studio2010. IDMEASS havegood practicability, speciality and integration, and it can improve the work efficiencyof mud technicians and act as their right-hand man.
