Because of inefficient usage of design data, the traditional computer added assembly planning system dissatisfies company’s needs of information integration. Compared with the traditional assembly planning design method,3D assembly process planning design technology has incomparable superiority in improving production efficiency and product quality, reducing costs, ensuring the enterprise collaborative design and manufacturing data sharing.According to the current research of3D assembly process planning design technology at home and abroad, this paper came up with an assembly process planning system based on3D product model, and researched the theoretical method and technology to realize system. The main contents and results are as follows:Firstly,it analysed the demand of product model for3D assembly process planning system, established the hierarchical model facing to3D assembly process planning, completed the integration of3D model’s geometry information and process information in order to provide information backup for3D assembly process.Secondly,this paper constructed sub-assembly hierarchical mode facing to assembly process and simplified of sub-assembly mode in order to reduce the difficulty of assembly sequence; It worked out the interference matrix of sub-assembly mode and took advantage of the matrix to figure out the assembly sequence;It put forward an fast algorithm for collision detection based on AABB bounding box; By discretizing the disassembly path,it used the detection of all the discrete points to express dynamic interference; It created key-frames via recording the key points’pose and organized the key-frames successively to generate process simulation animation.Finally Based on the Pro/ENGINEER platform and using Pro/ENGINEER second development Pro/TOOLKIT, Oracle and IDE(integrated development environment) Visual C++, it developed the3D assembly process planning system.
