With the development of pig industry, increasing farm waste has brought tremendouspressure to the environment. Xinjiang pig farming to become Xinjiang agricultural ecologyenvironment, the living environment in rural areas an important pollution source of, ecologicaldestruction and environmental pollution problems become the most important factor to restrictingthe sustainable development of the pig industry. In this study, the statistical yearbook and survey data, the pig industry in Xinjiang as anexample, the summation method and the governance cost method, questionnaire survey method, pollution loss method decomposition of pig industry in Xinjiang externalities were assessed fromthe perspective of environmental economics, in on the determination of environmental cost of pigindustry based, consider the pig production and combination of planting and breeding, pig farmwaste instead of chemical fertilizer use, pig farm biogas project to produce environmental benefits, the total sum of determined pig industry combined with the external. The research content isdivided into six parts, the specific contents are as follows: the first part: introduction. A descriptionof the research background, purpose, significance, research status at home and abroad relatedconcepts, the overall arrangement. The second part: the basic theory and method of study. Thispart is the theoretical basis of this study, including the externality theory, research methods. Thethird part: pig farms in the study area overview and pig field (households), and the currentsituation analysis; the fourth part: the pig industry in Xinjiang environmental cost measurement. This part determine the Constitution and estimation model of cost of pig industry environment ofXinjiang, the treatment cost of the pig industry measure of air pollution, soil pollution, waterpollution and water resource shortage of environmental cost. The fifth part: Xinjiang pig industrypositive externality and comprehensive external measurement. Is external mainly from pig manureinstead of chemical fertilizers, and planting formed complementary, biogas instead of other lifeenergy to produce environmental benefits assessment. The sixth part: conclusion and suggestion. The results show that the environmental cost of pig industry in Xinjiang is about169.8430x108yuan, is the value of the external is about19.6480x108yuan. The environmental cost isgreater than the positive externality, external cost about150.1950x108yuan. Finally, the paperdraws the conclusions and put forward reasonable suggestions.
