Slab was supported and droved by CSP Furnace roller. In order to meet harshenvironmental of high temperature and heavy loads, the furnace roller was designed towater cooled roller. It was mainly composed of metal roll body, heat-resistant metalroller ring, refractory insulation layer and roll shaft. Furnace roller furnace mechanicalequipment is the most important and fragile key equipment. In order to solve the supplyof spare parts, prolong life, improve the slab temperature uniformity, reduce costs, thestructure and arrangement of the furnace roll was researched to improvehigh-temperature properties and slab temperature uniformity. It was significant toreduce the steel production costs.In this dissertation, aiming at the problems of the furnace roller ring surface hightemperature deformation, excessive ablation, refractory layer damage, too largedifference in slab heating, with improving performance of furnace roller under hightemperature and lowering slab heating temperature difference, heat radiation the thermalcharacteristics have been researched in-depth. based on finite element numericalsimulation, the temperature and stress distribution of furnace rolls and the temperaturechange in slab heating have been computed, providing a basis for improving thestructure of the furnace roller, lowering slab heating temperature differences. The mainresearch results are as follows:1)The establishment of a proper flow of solid coupled heat transfer roller furnacemodel to calculate the distribution of temperature furnace roller furnace gases at hightemperatures. This model was based on the basic equations of fluid, heat transfer model,combined with the fluid-solid coupled heat transfer theory, the temperature distributionof furnace roller under different temperature of furnace gas was calculated. Bycontrasting the calculated roll cooling water outlet temperature and site inspection,which proved the reliability of temperature field simulation model. The furnace roll ringtemperature had exceeded its material temperature under1300℃gas temperature, thefurnace roller structure needs to be improved.2) Combined with the structural characteristics of the furnace rolls, the computer ofthermal stress was divided into two sub structures, the one include rollers, anchor,fire-resistant, the other include roller, roller ring. Imposed constraints and thermal boundary conditions based on the furnace roller temperature field simulation, thermalstress was calculated, the various parts of the stress distribution was researched.3) Aiming at the cooling deficiencies of the prior furnace roller ring andunreasonable anchor structure, cooling structure furnace rolls, roll ring structure and theanchor structure were respectively improved. a roll ring cooled by cooling water directly,double V-type anchor structure were designed. The effect of improved contrast showedthe rationality of improvement.4) Analysising the slab temperature difference causes, based on temperature fieldsimulation in slab heating process. The furnace roller arrangement was optimized basedon temperature field simulation in slab heating process, and the soaking time was find tosatisfy the slab temperature uniformity in case of emergence of rolling delay.Starting from the roller structure, the influence of roller temperature field, stressfield by different structures, and the effects of slab uniformity by different forms ofarrangement were analysed. It was significant to structure improvement and layout ofthe furnace rolls.
