Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) is a kind of ternary polymer based on polystyrene. ABS is widely used in household appliances, automobile and building industry because of its strong toughness, good mechanical properties, excellent electrical properties and the low-cost. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a kind of linear molecular structure without amorphous structure, which has high flame retardant performance, poor toughness and anti aging resistance. In this subject, based on the ABS, PVC raw materials, adding compatilizer, composite flame retardant, research a kind of ABS/PVC alloy with low-cost and high impact strength, high flame retardancy.The subject of the study is divided into three parts:First, studies of the changes of the amount of PVC impact on the performance of ABS/PVC alloy. Explores the influence of trend of the alloy impact strength, tensile strength, bending strength, melt flow rate, heat distortion temperature and hardness. Thus getting the best matching and the comprehensive performance balance products. Second, studies of the compatilizer impact on the performance of ABS/PVC alloy. Based on the material of the first part, changing the amount of chlorinated polyethylene to explore the compatibility of ABS/PVC alloy and other performance impact. Thus get the best dosage of compatilizer. Third, studies of the composite flame retardant impact on the performance of ABS/PVC alloy to Explore the oxygen index of alloy and the influence of other mechanical properties.As a result, adding PVC to ABS can reduce costs and make the performance of the alloy to achieve an effective balance. Also, it can effectively improve the flame retardant properties of ABS resin. But the addition of PVC can not meet the requirements of field of flame retardant performance UL94V-0. So we need to adding composite flame retardant, in order to get the final balance various performance products.
