Study On Eco-cultural Consciousness From The Perspective Of Ecological Civilization

The rising of ecology flourishes the civilization, while the decline of ecology perishes thecivilization. As the global ecological crisis is spreading, we slowly farewell with industrial civilizationand welcome the new era of human development, called ecological civilization. Ecological civilizationjoined in the “five in one” overall approach in the report of18th National Congress of the CommunistParty of China, which leads the new process towards the ecological civilization construction.Eco-cultural consciousness is not only a new topic of human survival brought by the globalecological crisis and multicultural coexistence, but also is a significant part of the ecological cultureconstruction of China. The study on eco-culture consciousness under the background of ecologicalcivilization contains important theoretical and practical values for the mitigation of ecological crisisgradually and the achievement of ecological civilization finally.Eco-cultural consciousness is a huge and complicated system engineering, which appeal us tomake a joint effort both on cognitive and practical. Herein, the cognitive consciousness is anantecedence step, while the practical consciousness is the key step. This study has served thenew-coming era of ecological civilization as the realistic background, analyzed the historicaland practical conditions which makes the eco-cultural consciousness possible and necessary, andexplained the relationship between ecological civilization and eco-cultural consciousness whichinteract as the premise and the foundation to each other. Then, this study further discussed theoriginations, contents, cognitive processes and features of eco-cultural consciousness, as well as itsfunctions of transforming the mode of thought, guiding people’s value orientation and promoting theecological practice in the construction of ecological civilization. Furthermore, we should follow the corevalues of harmony, the scientific development view, set up the people-oriented awareness, and pushforward reform and innovation. In addition, we should follow the inherited, contemporary, scientific andmass principles; and fulfill the eco-cultural consciousness through setting up the conscious valueconcepts, establishing evaluation systems, formulating relative laws and regulations, fostering correctlearning attitudes, and thus continuously promoting the ecological civilization constructions of China.
