Transformation And Innovative Applications Of Han Women Folk Cosume In The Modern Culture Context

In the history of Chinese clothing, women’s costume from Qing Dynasty to the Republicof China times has an important position and also be with a most obvious change. This paperintroduces the concept of cultural context into the study of modern times. By it, the modernsocial and cultural background of old China, which contains Modern political change, culturalcustoms, foreign culture and other factors, can be presented and perceived. The politicalsystem reform has brought new political civilization, opened a modern life mode; But theinflux of foreign culture made the every aspect of the modern society with civilization andmodernity; Traditional women dress becomes rich and colorful in the premise of adhering tothe traditional culture of the Han Dynasty to absorb the west art gradually.The main line of this article is " from gradual change to mutation in Modern HanChinese women clothing". By the material evidence in Folk costume Museum of JiangnanUniversity, data measurement of the external contour shape, interior decoration and otherdetails of this costumes have been done. And by this, gradually westernization and fashionmutations of women’s apparel have been summarized and analyzed.By analyzing thepopularity of " traditional blouse and skirt " and "Coronet Xiapei" clothing in early RepublicChina, the return and heritage of Chinese classical culture can be proved. While the abolitionof certain outmoded customs is a performance of political differences in modern China. Alongwith social progress, the“traditional blouse and skirt” and improved cheongsam got theposition of China national apparel, and be with a political connotation, becoming a newsymbol of political civilization. Combining the costume change phenomenon of early times,the main argument based of this article is the old Dacheng journal graphic, the womanideology and aesthetic changes behind the costume change has been found, that theindependent personality of women were forming from the abandonment of feudal outmodedcustoms, and they began to show their own gender consciousness and persue the modernfemale beauty.Finally, by the analysis of combination status of traditional elements with modern dress,performance of Chinese traditional clothing elements in modern fashion design have beenstudied. By the extraction of tradional costumes elements from our museum, the essencewhich highlights the traditional culture can be used into contemprory fashion design.In short,as a precious cultural heritage, Modern Han Chinese women costume have importanttheoretical and practical value, which need us to protect it with an "Inheriting and learning"attitude to protect, inherit and innovate.
