Northeastern University had developed a new generation advanced cooling system for plate mill(ADCOS-PM)based on abundant scientific research, engineering experience and ultra fast cooling technology. ADCOS-PM have a wide range of cooling capacity, good uniformity of plate shape and can reduce added alloying elements and so on. In this study, based on a steel mill’s4300mm after rolling cooling system as the background, made in-depth study on ADCOS-PM’s device and cooling capacity, heat transfer law in cooling process and temperature variation law and cooling rate inside plate. On this basis, the experiment established cooling rate model and precompute model. Achieved high-precision control of the plate temperature by using ADCOS-PM. The main research contents and results are as follows:(1) According to Ultra Fast Cooling(UFC) process for hot rolled plate, established the plate heat transfer equation with the finite element method in the process of UFC. On this basis combine with abundant process parameters and field noted pyrometer temperature data, used inverse heat conduction method to got average heat transfer coefficient data in the gap nozzle part and the high density nozzle part of ADCOS-PM.(2) Focus on the UFC process for hot rolled plate, Simulated and analyzed the variation law of temperature under different conditions. The conditions included pure gap nozzle opening, pure high density nozzle opening, laminar cooling and combination cooling. Mainly obtained variation of average cooling rate and core cooling rate in the cooling process with different plate thickness.(3) Combined with the basic thermal parameters and the measured temperature data of actual product, use ANSYS(?) finite element analysis software to simulate the cooling process. After comparison,the result in line with the cooling trend and the cooling rate range which got by previous study.(4) Study on base physical parameters model, air cooling temperature difference model, water cooling temperature difference model. Established accuracy precompute cooling rate model and after cooling temperature precompute model. provided the guarantee of ADCOS-PM products control precision.(5) With the background of a domestic steel mill, the developed model had applied to online manufacture process. Make610D as a example, the temperature accuracy control had achieved great effect, each performance indicators after ADCOS-PM cooled and temperd had met even exceed the performance after quenching and tempering..
