The resources of marine chemistry are very rich, and its exploitation is concerned by the world. It is a very important problem to be solved how to make full use of marine chemistry resources and how to determine the best process routes. So that we can reach the lower consumption and high-value products. The comprehensive process of marine chemistry is a very complex process. We see it as a whole system. We study two important products of potassium chloride and magnesium chloride hydrate production process. We determine the optimum process route in order to minimize the energy consumption optimization. In this paper, the following contents were reviewed, including the large-scale chemical process simulation software Aspen Plus, electrolyte system characteristics and thermodynamic models, simple equilibrium theory, production process of the potassium chloride and magnesium chloride hydrate. We got the basic physical data that we need in the process of the potassium chloride and magnesium chloride hydrate using Aspen Plus software and verified that the ELECNRTL model is suitable for this system. We established a model of production process of magnesium chloride hydrate using Aspen Plus software and the method of the physical properties has been improved. We discussed the evaporator vapor fraction and the final temperature cooling effected on product yield. We determined the operating condition at the lowest energy consumption per unit of product. We simulated and analyzed the salt precipited law of a mixed brine and evaporation concentration process and cooling crystallization process of potassium chloride production process using Aspen Plus. We determined the appropriate end point of evaporation and cooling temperature. The evaporation process was optimized in order to reduce energy consumption. We determined the evaporation methods by analyzing different evaporation methods in the case of ensuring product qualityThrough established and analysed the above models, the simulation results can provide foundations for the future utilization and development of the marine chemistry resources.
