In the paper, it is studied for Zambia Cu-Co mixed concentrate bioleaching. The optimum operating conditions are gotten out under the guidance of process mineralogy after the bacteria are selected and optimized, and settled for the practical production. The bacteria process is used for the Cu-Co leaching for the first time. Thus it owns great significance. Many innovative results are reached as below:First, the process mineralogy research for Zambia Cu-Co mixed concentrate shows that the mineral is consisted of23.6%Cu,1.03%Co,32.3%S and31.79%Fe. Cu exists as chalcopyrite, chalcocite and bornite. Co exists as carrolite.Second, the bacteria show perfect adaptability for the Cu-Co mixed concentrate at40℃and15%pulp concentration after selected and domesticated. The Co leaching rate is improved greatly and reaches33.97%. The bacterial rank for the Co leaching is native bacteria<domesticated bacteria<mineral bacteria.Third, the bacteria are domesticated through Co salt culture medium, and show perfect tolerance under30g·L-lCo2+. The maximum bacterial concentration is109cell L-1.Fourth, the mineral bioleaching rate and domesticated bioleaching rate are88.50%and83.90%at35℃and10%pulp concentration,73.73%and69.60%at35℃and15%pulp concentration,94.90%and86.30%at40℃and10%pulp concentration,93.88%and86.62%at40℃and15%pulp concentration,79.58%and75.71%at40℃and20%pulp concentration,79.08%and64.17%at45℃and10%pulp concentration,72.44%and63.77%at45℃and15%pulp concentration, and55.37%and49.16%at45℃and20%pulp concentration. Finally, the optimum Co leaching rate is93.88%at40℃and15%pulp concentration.
