The opposed multi-burner(OMB) coal water slurry gasifier was developed jointly by YanKuang Group and East China University of Science and Technology, which has the independent intellectual property rights and has made remarkable achievements in industrialization.Because the gasifier is long-termly operated at high temperature over1300℃, the furnace body is protected by multilayer refractory bricks. However, the quality of the gasifier refractory preheating and the control of the gasifier operation parameters directly influence the life of the gasifier refractory brick and the plant safety operation.The paper focuses on refractory preheating and automatic control of the OMB coal water slurry gasifier. The total gasifier refractory preheating process was dynamic simulated by the dynamic process simulation software. According to the simulation results, the gasifier refractory preheating curve of the automatic control is better than that of manual control, and is in good agreement with the theoretical preheating curve. The automatic control process of the process parameters, such as the oxygen-coal ratio, pressure, gasifier liquid level, was studied. The operation results show that the choices of the control loop are suitable for automatic adjustment, and operation parameters are stable.
