Red mud is a kind of waste residue in the process of alumina production,Severely ecological environment pollution is caused by its huge production and high alkalinity. With the development of economy, people is paying more attention to the protection of environment, how to solving the perennial stockpiling of red mud effectively is hotpot to the aluminum oxide industry.The topic material over Bayer process red mud and sintering red mud come from Shandong aluminum plant. Experiment of the analysis, flue gas desulfurization experiment, absorption chemical kinetics and the industrial application of economic analysis were researched respectively. This article main research content as follows:(1) Carry out the Shandong aluminum plant red mud composition analysis experiment, mainly used the complex metric titration. Respectively for the quantitative analysis the mental oxides such as SiO2, A12O3, Fe2O3, CaO, MgO, composition quantitative analysis research of red mud leaching solution by ICP, which mental elements Al, Fe, Ca, Mg, Na. The free cation is one of the effective components in the process of desulfurization experiment, characterized by SEM and XRD characterization methods the red mud leaching liquid of tiny particles, CaCO3, CaOAl2O3SiO2-2H2O, CaOAl2O3-2SiO2and Fe2O3. From the analysis of the chemical reaction, we ensure these materials are the effective ingredients of the desulfurization project. (2) According to the proportion, red mud leaching solution and the flue gas desulfurization experiment show a excellent result:the desulfurization effect can be as high as99.9%. After a large number of different L/G and L/S experiment and analyzed the experiment data, we came out the best working conditions of desulfurization:L/S=12-16, L/G=10:1-15:1. In industrial applications, the pH=6is the right time to add the flash red mud leaching solution to guarantee the ideal desulphurization efficiency (above90%). Compared to the control experiment NaOH solution and water, the advantage of red mud leaching solution in the flue gas desulfurization were find out. At the same time, the use of red mud leaching solution desulfurization process will solve the he traditional desulfurization technology problem which was pipeline and equipment of fouling and blocking phenomenon.(3)The complicacy of red mud leaching solution leads to the diversity of desulfurization reaction process, after the bubbling experiment and discuss the macro level’s kinetics of desulfurization. The reaction processes include gas-liquid two-phase reaction and the adsorption particulate matter, the mass transfer resistance lies on gaseous film. The temperature and entrance flue concentration show that all of them respect to the effect on the desulfurization.(4) Industrial application economic analysis of the red mud leaching solution technique showed:it can save9million RMB compared to the traditional desulfurization process which1000MW power plant. It has a nice market value and good application prospect.
