The formation of an “invisible, transparent, insulated airtight cover” from theconvergent air curtain between pollutants and operator control pollution, which cut offheatpassed out at the Environmental Protection Labor protection and health protection is verybeneficial,and also has great application value in life. The flow feld experiments ofconvergent air-curtain have done, obtain experimental data,and do the optimized design, butthere is no numerical simulation to this issue.In this paper, Gambit and AutoCAD software was used to build a computer model ofConvergent Air-Curtain, Fluent Software was used to calculate and export data, Origin andother specialized software were used to process data. Simulation results show that Realizablek-ε is the best for Convergent Air-Curtain’s Numerical Simulation, and produce followingconclusions:(1) Axial velocity distribution converged air curtain without interference zone andturbulent mixing zone in line with the formula asu m1(u01k0)/h D0, but differentparameters for different zones; in the free diffusion region, in line with the axis of the velocityfit of Boltzmann distribution.(2) The concentration of pollutants in the air curtain flow field area directly on the samehorizontal plane distance between the center of the distribution of Gauss distribution, but inthe immediate area with a concentration of suddenly drop properties, which proved theisolated effect of converged air curtain.(3) The effects of air curtain vents and horizontal angle parameters on the convergenceproperties of the air curtain, Set optimal parameters for the air curtain and the horizontal angleof68°~74°, the air curtain jet width6~8cm, speed is2~3m/s is Preferably, Simulationresults show that converged air curtain has a good convergence effect.(4) Converged air curtain had a stronger blocking capability than hood after analysis.The mechanism is that the flow formed egative pressure to reduce the spread of pollutant inand out of the convergence zone, which reduced the spread of pollutants.The paper conclution is provide the basis data for designed or selection of converged aircurtain, and has a theoretical and practical meaning to the other conditions of ventilationcontrol scheme designation.
