Hydrometallurgy has most important role in metallurgy process of copper sulfide ore.Compared with pyrometallurgical process, hydrometallurgy process has high productionefficiency and low energy consumption. In this paper, sulfation roasting-acid leachingprocess was studied to recovery copper from copper sulfide concentrate, which rich ofsulfur accorded with business needs; the dynamic mechanism of roasting in oxygen andair atmosphere was studied, apparent reaction activation energy was caculated; a newprocess of sulfation roasting-acid leaching-chloride leaching was developed to recoverygold and copper from mixed concentrate of copper sulfide and high carbon goldconcentrate. This paper mainly studied the influences of roasting and leaching conditions oncopper extraction, which included of roasting temperature, roasting time, amount and kindsof addictive agent; sulfuric acid in leaching agent, leaching temperature, leaching time, stirring rate, liquid-solid ratio. Finally, the results showed that roasting temperature andtime were important factors influenced on copper extraction. When the roastingtemperature and time were500centigrade and2hours respectively, the copper extractionachieved95.28%. When the roasting temperature was above550centigrade, copperextraction could be improved by adding sodium sulfite; there’s no obvious improvementwhen roasting temperature below550centigrade. Copper extraction could be increased to99%by adding sodium sulfate before roasting. During leaching process, sulfuric acidconcentration, leaching time and leaching temperature were key factors affected on copperextraction. There’s little influence of stirring rate and liquid-solid ratio on copper extraction. The optimum leaching conditions fixed at: sulfuric acid concentration (5%); liquid-solidratio (4:1); stirring rate (400r/min); leaching time (2h);leaching temperature (roomtemperature25℃).This paper studied the apparent dynamic mechanism of air and oxygen atmospherebased on the sulfur dioxide generated during roasting process. In air atmosphere condition, roasting reaction was controlled by interfacial chemical reaction, apparent activationenergy of reaction was43.14kJ/mol. When roasting atmosphere changed to oxygen (50%),time of maximum sulfur dioxide produced was shortened, apparent activation energydecreased, leaching rate was increased and the reaction became mixing reaction control. Allthis proved the feasibility of the advantage of oxygen-rich roasting condition on copperrecovery. Finally, this paper studied the sulfation roasting-acid leaching-chloride leachingprocess to recovery gold and copper from mixed concentrate. When added sodium sulfite(1%) to mixed concentrate before roasting, gold extraction increase4.87%and copperextraction5.14%. However, there’s no ideal result of gold and copper extraction whenroasted at oxygen (50%) atmosphere.
