In recent years, as a new surveying technology,3D laser scanning has caught much attention of its high precision, high density, real-time measurement and activity, which has broad appropriate prospects in many areas as its unique technical advantages and characteristics. So, it is theoretically and practically significant to apply three-dimensional laser scanning technique to the fields of Industrial Inspection, as is an available supplement for traditional survey methods.The paper researches coordinate transformation which bases on the Taylor series expansion and Rodriguez matrix. In order to realize the 3D laser scanning coordinate system to other coordinate system, we use matlab computer language as tools to design coordinate transformation. By comparison of test data, we can get the coordinate transformation based on Rodriguez matrix not only applies to small-angle space coordinate transformation, but also to wide-angle space transformation. It solves the size of the rotation angle limits of the traditional seven-parameter coordinate transformation method. You can get higher conversion accuracy with calculation process simple and fast and no iteration.In order to test Trimble GS200 and Trimble FX 3D laser scanner, we use measurement system analysis methods, laser scanner's testing fields are built and plans to test the laser scanner are designed. Then the data to test the laser scanner are captured. After analyzing the experiment data, we can improve the laser scanner's precision and Unity the Coordinate system, which we can transform the 3D laser scanner data by the high-precision points. Then the affection to the laser scanner's precision are tested, which are caused by the distribution of the public point and the number of common points. The paper also studies to remove the error in the points cloud by fitting the 3D laser scanner's points cloud, then, assesses the accuracy of data fitting. The paper focuses on discussing plane fitting method in points cloud data.
