Landslide is a kind of disaster frequently occurs in mountain roads caused by slope instability and brings massive loss to national traffic system and social economy. Studies on landslide and measure of treatment of mountain roads were carried out in this thesis. Finite element analysis on slope was performed combined with actual project. Sliding region was indicated and reasonable measures of treatment were proposed for the selected project and for reference of other similar project. Main work of the thesis is listed as below:(1) Studies on slope instability and measures of treatment were reviewed. Information was summarized including influencing factor, reason of breakage, types of instability, mode of breakage and treatment measures of slope instabiliy of mountain roads.(2) Deterministic analysis including quantitative and qualitative and nondeterministic analysis method were discussed for analysis of slope instability of mountain roads. Application of limit equilibrium theory and finite element theory on slope instability analysis were provided with their foundamentals and procedures.(3) Actual landslide of mountain road was chosed for case study. Finite element theory was applied to study the distribution of plastic area, motion and stress of the slope under different conditions with proper parameters of soil and solid. Safety coefficient were provided to study the stability of the slope.(4) Proper treatment measures were proposed according to the results of calculation on landslide with FEM. Performances of the treatment and reinforcement of the slope after several years'observation.Achievements of this thesis can be used for reference for prevention and control of landslide of mountain roads.
