This paper is a part of National Science Fund emphasis project on the generating machanism, harm and defence of river ice and sea ice. The study is focused on the calculation of ice load which is important to engineering department and on the reliability of ice load in the process action between ice and structure. Firstly, the sea ice thickness specimen of every year is got according to numerical simulation by using minor scale sea ice numerical model and the effect of environment parameters is discussed. Secondly, Gumbel-maximum distribution of sea ice thickness for different recurrence period is given and the method of Gumbel-maximum statistics is used to analyse the thickness specimen of sea ice . The merit of Gumbel-maximum statistics is explicated by comparing it with other methods. Thirdly , all factors which have effect on sea ice strength are analysed and normal distribution of sea ice strength is given bytaking strain velocity as main effect factor. At last , all kinds of formulas of static ice force are summarized and compared and calculation result of Schwartz formula is near to reality test result . So reliability of designed value of static ice force for different recurrence period is calculated by taking Schwarz formula as formula of static ice force...
