Charging of spacecraft will have great effect on the activities in the space. The best way to investigate such phenomenon is the in-situ observation, but it is also the most expensive. A good alternative is to study it in a simulated plasma environment in ground laboratory. In this paper, we fulfill this aim by using an ECR plasma source to create the plasma. The measurements show that the simulated LEO plasma environment in the vacuum chamber is uniform and stable. The interactions between the plasma and test modules are similar with those happening in the space. We have also done some preliminary experiments on the solar cells and made good preparation for later research about this topic. |
