An advanced AUSMWK scheme was described on the base of AUSM+ scheme. AUSMWK scheme improved the computational results in the flow fields with shock and shear flow and decreased the numerical oscillation . The scheme was used to simulate the complex three-dimensional eddy flow, and strengthened the computational ability of NAPA. All the improvements included the modifications on the sound velocity, characteristic Mach number and the Mach number at the grid interface. Several 2D flow fields which had shock, shear flow, rarefaction wave, or turbulent boundary layer and the combination of them were computed. Some comparisons between the improved scheme and original scheme were given through several numerical experiments. The results showed that the improved scheme had higher resolution for discontinuity, especially for the shock and shear flow, it also had the more accurate solution for the viscous flow. The improved AUSMWK scheme was extended on the three-dimensional flow field. Three complicated 3D flow which included a supersonic flow at the comer of the intersecting wedges, a hypersonic flow in the lifting-body configuration and a flow in the rotating frame were numerically simulated by using AUSMWK. Results showed that the improved scheme could predict the complex turbulent flow more effectively than the original one..
