Fracture is the main reservoir and migrating channel of petroleum. But it is difficult to detect fracture strip by a single subject or method. Especially in carbonate formation, owing to its intricate interstice, the size, shape of cave, and the character of filling, it is almost impossible to get a all-around cognition.Under the circumstance, comprehensively prediction by multi-subject method is the way to predict caves in carbonate formation. The paper discusses the probability of fracture detection by seismic method firstly, and then analyses seismic reflected wave character of fracture-cave stratum. At last, the paper validate that dynamical characteristic of seismic wave is more sensitive to fracture than kinetic characteristic. Based on that theory, we choose multi-scale edge detection method, singular exponential wavelet amplitude method, coherence method, etc. to detect fracture. Combining the result with logging, exploiting information, using multiple mathematics methods such as Cluster Analysis, Neural Network, step-by-step linear regress, the paper found the relationship among seismic, logging, and exploiting information in well-control zone. Moreover, we calculate fracture richness index. As a result, we can distinguish rich fracture zone from carbonate formation by fracture richness index in non-well-control zone.Comparing with former prediction methods, there are two progresses in it. First, the concept of fracture richness index is advanced and thus extend of fracture's richness can be numerable. Second, multiple seismic detection methods are introduced, and multiple subjects, including logging, exploiting, seismic, are used comprehensively as well, So the inconsistency among multiple seismic detection methods and the conflict between the macroscopic character of logging and the microcosmic character of seismic are solved very well.The comprehensively prediction method is used in Tahe four oil-field, and the result is compared with geological and logging-record. The outcome shows that this method is effective in carbonate formation.
