The incoherent wind lidar in ocean university of China is mainly used to detect wind field at low altitude (below 15km). Doppler shift is used to get wind speed, wind direction is got by appropriate scanning technique. For both of Rayleigh scattering and Mie scattering exist in lower atmosphere, the backscattering ratio Rb is needed to calibrate the wind speed response curve. Different response curves of different Rb are calculated in this paper, the curves can be used to calibrate the wind speed. The atmosphere temperature can also affect the wind speed response curve. Different response curves of different atmosphere temperature are calculated in this paper. Usually Rayleigh scattering is used to detect the atmosphere temperature, the method of Rayleigh scattering to detect the atmosphere temperature is described. The theory of HSRL lidar for atmosphere temperature detection is described. The simulation of the method is made, when the atmosphere temperature is 260K, if IK increase the relative error is 3.4×10-3. If two iodine filters are used, the error of the system can be effectively reduced.Wind shear is harmful to the airplane, the F-factor is calculated in this paper, it is used to estimate whether the wind shear is harmful to a airplane. The most harmful wind shear is at the altitude below 300 metres. Microburst is one of the harmful phenomena which cause wind shear. The scale of it is usually l-4km. A microburst model is used in the paper, the lidar scanning along the runway and vertical to the runway when a microburst happening are simulated. From the simulation the PPI (Plan Position Indictor) plot is got. The change of wind speed and direction can be seen from the PPI plot. So the lidar PPI plot can be used to estimate the existence of a wind shear.
