In this dissertation, a method to generate 2-D unstructured grid and the finite volume arithmetic to solve two-dimensional Euler equation in unstructured grid system are investigated in detail. The codes are also developed for grid generator and Euler solver, and the calculation results are compared with experimental data. The Advancing-front method and the Delaunay method are studied here to fulfill the generation of 2-D unstructured grid. The mesh is built and renewed by using Delaunay triangulation method. The internal nodes are created in terms of Advancing-front concept. Two coefficients are introduced to adjust the size and shape of the mesh. The mesh quality is improved efficiently by using the smoothing technique. The cell-centered symmetric finite volume arithmetic and Runge-Kutta time stepping scheme are performed to solve Euler equation. The two order and four order artificial dissipation is introduced for stability, local time stepping and implicit residual smoothing technique is applied to save computer time.Three typical nozzle flow fields are calculated by using the method based on unstructured grid system and finite volume scheme, which are developed in this dissertation. The calculation results are compared with experimental data, and the good agreement shows that the methods described here are practical and efficient in nozzle flow calculation.
