Along with the application of computer technology in the vocation of Cartography, All-digitalized technology & methods on map produce have been populized in army for surveying and mapping. It integrates theory and methods in cartology and computer graphics & image process organicly.Under the traditional Mapping condition. The Map-makers must make their drawing tools, such as contour pen, ruling pen.But in the digital condition, Map-makers depend on relevant softwares. So,Developing the mapping software become inevitable. The OO(Object-Oriented) Software development method was put forward in 1960s.and in the middle of 1990s it became the paradigm of many software designer. Base on the OO theory and practice, people developed the software modeling technology,UML,CASE tools.they all commit themselves to managing the software process efficiently, improving the quality of software and making the maintanance of software convenient. This paper realized the design of data structure and function module of Digital Map Graphic Edit System(DMGES) on the base of OO analysis and design. This paper which starts from the actual needs, directed by the theory of Cartology analyses all kinds of requires and functions for DMGES,and create the spatial data model of the software system, combining the new generation programming technology, taking the OO software Modeling, Analysis, Design method, it realized the collection, display of digital map data and the building of Map denotation library, hi the end, this paper put forward the go-on research in future.
