The geographical data is not only the blood of GIS application system, but also the key and the core of GIS application. GIS application itself deal with the geographical data by gathering, editing, storing, managing, analyzing, showing and mapping. Due to many GIS software platforms, Complicated data structures, different and continuous developing models in GIS, and the cost of data construction taking a larger part in all of the cost, the study of data sharing is very important in GIS application. Realizing the transformation among some kinds of data is always an important problem in the development GIS application in recently many years. In this article, based on the study of Geo-spatial data transformation format, the following contents are studied:1. Analyzed and studied Data sharing methods in GIS.2. Studied the compatibility between the vector data transformation format and other several kinds of transformation formats.3. Analyzed the differences between the vector data transformation format (abbreviation VCT) and MIF, MID format. Building up conversion model between them and realizing conversion between them by programming.4. This paper tried to realize vector format by making use of oriented-object idea. At last, the result of the researching and studying is summarized and the futuredevelopment tendency is looked forward to in this article.
