The measurement of the luminous flux of UHP (Ultra High Power) light source is described in this paper. The UHP light source has the advantages of high luminescent efficiency, long lifetime, good spectrum and low caloric value etc, and has been widely used in LCD (liquid crystal display) projectors and LCD back-projection televisions. The scheme of the rotary table distributed photometer has been designed on the basis of photometry theory, while the whole system is centered on MCU (Micro Control Unit), including optics, mechanism, electron and computer. This paper consists of three parts. In the first part: after presenting the basic theory of photometry and two methods of measuring the luminous flux, the photoelectric detectors, especially the silicon photocell together with the filter are discussed in detail. The second part: The whole construction of the system is ascertained at the beginning of the second part, following that are the designation of the optical subsystem and photo-electron conversion subsystem and the respective representation of hardware and software concerned. The last part: deals with the results of this experiment and the analysis of the precision and errors.
