Spatial data is the key of GIS. By analyzing and summarizing the producing and researching situation of spatial data in our country, I think the research of spatial datasets is still insufficient. Lacking the datasets fitting with GIS delays the popularization of GIS in China.In this paper, the focus is the process of producing spatial datasets. By studying the pipelining mode in modern industry, I think the main advantage of this mode is: to help subdividing the producing-process, to make the working assignment more special, to lessen the requirements of working requirements of workers, to help the realization of automatically production, and to boost the working-efficiency in the whole working flow.By classifying the original spatial data products in our market, and by referencing the design pattern of pipelining mode in industry, I brought out a universal model for producing spatial datasets, and also discussed the main content of this model.In this model, I organized every course with a reasonable method, and brought out a unified way for every course. I think this model will provide a great help in vast-producing of spatial data, and will draw more attention in this research field.In order to test the rationality of this model, I processed the scanned map data and AutoCAD data by using the module function I designed in MapInfo. The final result proved that this model could aid us to process spatial data by improving the producing efficiency.
