Knot insertion, knot removal, degree elevation and degree reduction of B-spline curves are important technique in CAGD.We begin with knot insertion, a kind of new methods of knot insertion (include endpoint interpolating) has been established. With Moose-Penrose theory, we establish a formula of knot removal. Then using endpoint interpolation, we discuss Piegl & Tiller algorithm about degree elevation and degree reduction of B-spline. The improved Piegl & Tiller algorithm can be used to all uniform and non-uniform curves. |
