In this paper the planar array of waveguide-fed longitudinal resonant shunt slots is designed with field analysis method. The fundamental integral equations that describe the array are used directly and mutual coupling between slots, including both internal and external effects,high-order mode,dielectric-filled guide, waveguide wall thickness and width of slots are included as integral parts of the development. The rooftop function and pulse function are chosed as basic function and test function when resolving the integral equations in the method of moment. This choice simplify the calculation of matrix element when singularities emerge in the Green's function The calculation process of matrix element is introduced in detailin the paper, especially about the element including singularities. A new design method is presented in the paper. That is,the offset of every slot can be obtained through Taylor array synthesis and equivalent circuit method and then adjust the length of every slot to make every slot resonant(the aperture field phase is 90 degrees). The slot length which make every slot resonant is the wanted slot length. One eleven-elemented even linear array and one eleven-elemented Taylor linear array which first sidelobe is –25dB are design by the method introduced in the paper. A good effect is achieved. The design result of one twenty-two-elemented planar array with two waveguides( there are eleven slots in each waveguide )is presented. The first sidelobe of the planar array is –25dB.
