An interface element based on cohesive zone model is employed to simulate the interface in composite laminate. Decohesive element is established in terms of relative displacements and traction across the interface. In the present thesis, the finite element method is applied to study the process of laminte damage. The main content of this paper are summarized as below:1. Deduced the equation of the interface element on the base of principle of virtual work.2. The numeric simulations of the Double Cantilever beam and End-notch Flexure are carried out and compared the results with the experimental, the agreement with the experimental response was satisfactory.3. Based on the power law criteria and B-K criteria, the interface elements are used to simulated MMB test. the different G_I/G_T ratios are simulated in this chapter and discussed the parameter of B-K criteria in the case of an MMB test specimen with G_I/G_T=50%. B-K criteria and power law criteria are used to simulate the propagation of delamination in the case of G_I/G_T =80%.4. On the base of above works ,discussed the composite single lap joints, The influence of lap length and lap thickness on the strength of adhesivelybonded is discussed in detail.
