The GIS had made rapid progress since its found in 50's last century, and it has shown a great future. The Scanned image's Vectorization is the basic part of GIS, and it made solid support for the spatial data input of GIS.This paper first starts from the background of the Scanned image's Vectorization. Then it states some usually used image and vector file. For the image thining, it talk about the theory and classification of some usually used thining method. For the image thining, it talk about the theory and classification of some usually used thining method. About the image's Vectorization, this paper discusses the origin of the image's Vectorization, then it shows us the actuality and development of image's Vectorization. At last, it compares some usually used vectorization method. And also the paper narrates the characteristic and basic arrangement rules of vectorization, and focus on the data arrangement of this paper. At last, a scanned contour map is used to test this software, a good result is got. That also suggests the scanned contour image vectoring software is a useful software for the work of the scanned contour image vectoring.
