Purpose:To observe the survival and morphological variety when the zebrafish irradiated by the 12C6+ ions and calculate the RBE value which cause half death and cardiac rupture.Material and method:we choose 75 male zebrafishes with mean body height and weight were 526 ± 123 mg and 4—5cm, respectively which had been cultivated for 3—4 months in the laboratory after incubation and divide them into 7 experimental groups to accept the irradiation of 1, 5., 10% 15,20,25,30Gy 12C6+ ions. Cardiac rupture is one of the specific injuries when the zebrafish is exposed to the irradiation. Through preliminary experiment we find this phenomenon occure when the dose of X-ray exceed 30Gy and the dose of 12C6+ ions exceed 20Gy. We also divide all the zebrafish into 7 experimental groups to accept the irradiation of 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60Gy X-ray and 12C6+ ions. Conclusion:After 30 days, we could find that stiffness and upturning of the tail, pigment sedimentation in the epidermis and low sensitivity to the extenal stimulation. When the dose of carbon ions exceed 20Gy, Hemorrhage occurred earlily and popularly in the gill than in the coelome perhaps for the high sensitivity of the gill to the irradiational injury. Through survival analysis we find that mortality of each group of zebrafish presents linear correlation with the dose of the rays. Comparing to the routine X-ray, we got the 12C6+ ions' RBE value 1.44 which was lower than others experimental animals. From this we can prospect an anti-irradiation mechanism in the zebrafish which would be found and used in the clinical therapeutic or accidental radiation...
