Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) is a kind of technology of using the phase information coming from the pair of SAR SLC images to acquire the 3-demension information and the change information on the surface of the earth. It is concerned and researched all of the world. The research on theory and method of InSAR SLC image registration is significant to improve the quantity of interferogram fringe, raise the measure ability ,and realize the automatization of data processing.Focus on theory and method of InSAR SLC image registration, research and experiment are performed, which consists of the following parts:1. The conception and development of the InSAR system based on satellite formation are researched and the three basic problems including the wave, the send-receive mode and the three synchronization are analysed.2. The experiments on the cursory registration contrasting correlative coefficient method to spectrum maximum method with the airborne and space borne InSAR data are performed . It approves that the effect of former method is perfect.3. The experiment on the airborne and spaceborne InSAR data shows correlative coefficient interpolation method is with feasibility and practicability, it can assure the good quantity and the high efficiency. The experiment contrasting it to spectrum maximum method of oversampling image is performed, both of interferogram fringes are consistent, but the former is more efficient.4. The experiments on the different grid space of the reference point are performed to the space borne InSAR data. It is the conclusion that the perfect grid space is 30-60 pixels.5. The theory and method of image sampling are analyzed. The experiments contrasting bi-cubic convolution method to bi-linear interpolation method with the spaceborne InSAR data show the former is perfect. It is applied to the airborne InSAR data, and the better effect is achieved too.6. Based on the above-mentioned theoretical and practical research, a set of practical experiment system is established to realize the basic functions of InSAR SLC image registration.
