The Jinchuan sulfide deposit is a major source of Ni and Cu. Platinum group element and Au are also very important economic components of the Jinchuan. The great ore reserve has made Jinchuan well-know. Since the Jinchuan igneous body which host Ni-Cu sulfide deposit consist of only ultramafic rocks, the Jinchuan deposit was previously interpreted to be an ultramafic-related deposit. The ultramafic rocks contain greater then 0. 4 wt percent Ni. Numerous ore lenses have been delineated in the intrusion, mainly in the lower part of the igneous body.Along with production exploration and carrying on, in October, 1992 a new blind ore body was discovered at east Longshou. After prospecting, this ore body main characteristic is the metallic minerals by the chalocopyrite primarily, the copper personal status is high (Ni/Cu≈0.5) all to be higher than the Jinchuan copper nickel ore deposit host ore body (Ni/Cu≈2), also the platinum metal alloy exceptionally concentrates, the ore body tax saves in the ultra basic rock body and its the adjacent formationBased on systematic-study of the various kinds of the former work fruits, and thorough and detailed field investigation, the author collects a large amount of geological information. The author emphasize that this rich copper (platinum race) the ore body to mop the characteristic, the ore matter composition, the geochemistry characteristic as well as the ultra basic rock body, the ore body tax saves the rule, the structure, the ultra basic rock body and the mineralization relations, Through with in two mining areas 1 main ore body trace element content characteristic contrast, analyzed the structure, the ultra basic rock thick liquid activity, the hydrothermal has formed in the ore deposit the function, as well as mineralization matter origin, by applying deposit geology, isotope geology, geochemistry, structure geology and so on, also by means of computer aid simulation mapping and so on.The conclusions are draw that the Jinchuan intrusion is mantle-derived; the ultrumafic magma later from melting spot contained more S, Ni and Cu moves into deep magma chamber, sulfide liquid segregate from the silica magma in the deep chamber, when the magma is emplaced several time into the present magma chamber, sulfide liquid settle to the base of the magma chamber to form the deposit. After magmatogene deposit, structure activities take place in the Jinchuan deposit and affect the redistribution of Ni, Cu and PGE.
