In recent years, with the development of people's social and economic activity, and people's excessive exploitation of natural resources, the geo-environment has been caused to deteriorate gradually. As a result, in order to ensure the security of projects construction and of mankind's lives and possession, it is significant to carry out the research on evaluation of geological environmental quality.In this paper, Zhouzhi county in Shaanxi province is taken as the research object. On the basis of out-site inspection and geology data, the main geo-environment including lithology, geological structure, Neotectonic movement, engineering geological type, hydrogeological condition, human engineering activity are expatiated. Then, the main geological disasters such as landslide, avalanche and debris flow and theirs characteristics are analyzed. And distribution law, development law, formation conditions and influence factors of geological disasters are studied.Secondly, the method of establishing index system for geo-environment quality evaluation is introduced, and the methods of quantifying indexes, sifting indexes, and weighting indexes are also discussed. Several theoretical methods for geo-environment quality evaluation are introduced such as information method, Gray Correlation Analysis and multi-classification fuzzy pattern recognition model. In this paper, multi-classification fuzzy pattern recognition model is applied in geo-environment quality evaluation. The analysis module of multi-classification fuzzy pattern recognition model is developed with Visual Basic6.0 software.Lastly, the spatial graph database and property database of Zhouzhi county are established. The main indexes for geo-environment quality evaluation are chosen by comparing one with one method and are weighted by hierarchy analytic process. Then, geo-environment quality of Zhouzhi county is evaluated by the analysis module of multi-classification fuzzy pattern recognition model, and the geo-environment quality is classified into four classes: best, good, moderate, worst.
