The research background of atomic guiding and its recent development is reviewed. The basical theory of neutral atomic guiding is discussed and several applications of atomic guiding are introduced. A novel controllable scheme to guide cold neutral atoms by using current-carrying wires and bias magnetic field is proposed. The transverse distributions of the magnetic field is calculated. We find that it can be used to realize both single-channel and double-channel magnetic guiding of cold atoms. The number of guiding channel is determined by the bias magnetic field. Moreover, some atom-optical elements based on the scheme, such as atomic funnel, atomic beam splitter and atomic interferometer are proposed and studied.A novel controllable atomic beam spiller is proposed . Its splitting mechanism is discussed. The splitting ratio of the beam splitter can be adjusted by adding a homogeneous bias magnetic field along the y-direction, and the relationship between the splitting ratio and the additional bias field is analyzed. By using the classical Monte-Carlo method, the splitting process of the guided atomic beam in the beam splitter is simulated, and the transverse adiabatic heating effects of the atomic beam in the beam splitter are analyzed simply.
