Steel plays an important role in the national economy. As the industrial development, the iron ore consumption is getting increasing. Although the iron ore has increased, it still failed to meet domestic demand, the iron ore dependence on imports more than 50%.In 2009, China Steel Association and Rio Tinto talks fail, which result in the price of iron ore. To cope with the current problem,it deal with two kinds of measures,which increase the iron resource developing and maintain a reasonable scale of imports. However, as the industrial mining process going on, the easy to treat and high comprehensive value sulphuric iron is decreasing greatly in the current iron mineral resources, iron tailings as the secnd resource is an interesting issue by the whole society. Tailings resources from our reality, made great efforts tailings comprehensive utilization of resources to achieve resource development and conservation simultaneously, improve resource utilization efficiency of great economic importance and social significance.Yunnan specimens used in this study of a selected iron mine tailings, tailings production early, before the 2007 reform of the tailings, and in 2007 after the transformation of tailings. Since the initial production has not recovered weakly magnetic hematite and other iron minerals, in 2007 before the transformation of strong magnetic separator is not enough lead to some loss of hematite and other iron minerals in the tailings, the tailings contain can be recovered in red iron ore and other iron minerals. As production progressed, the growing stock of the tailings pile, according to estimates, the total amount of about 2.5 million tons of tailings, iron grade of 25% of its re-election is expected to provide enterprises with 500 thousand tons iron concentrate.To cope with the current problem of mine for as soon as possible the effective development and utilization of the tailings.The research has been operated detailed in processing mineral of the project for iron tailings, lab-scal optimization test and extensive test. With the processing mineral research, the result shows the property of sampling mineral is very complicated, the valuable mineral of mineral residue from iron tailings is hematite, limonite, and a small amount of magnetite (maghemite), and the gangue minerals include chlorite, quartz, apatite (phosphate rock), (iron) dolomite, calcite, barite and so on.24.62% iron ore, iron, an independent mineral limonite, hematite and chlorite isomorphism, iron, dolomite and other forms of output. Limonite was disseminated mainly distributed in the mud-like crystal-microcrystalline dolomite, some with detritus-like, pulse-like shape of output, the iron concentrate grade and recovery of the adverse effects can not be ignored; hematite mainly debris in the form of output. Iron ore 18.1% of the total iron found in dolomite, chlorite, pyrite and chalcopyrite, and limit recovery rate of iron concentrate. In view of this ore characteristics, this study through a large number of tests, eventually to find an effective recycling of the tailings process, that is, high intensity magnetic separation-classification Select-Shaker selection test process, the magnetic concentrate grading, Fine ore concentrate, as a direct output of selected coarse concentrate shaker, shaker in the mine and then, after grinding cycle of re-election. Its sorting indicators:-0.037mm fine-grained concentrate grade of 49.67%,33.24% recovery rate; coarse-grained concentrate grade of 58.16%, recovery rate 7.66%; the final concentrate grade of 51.07%,40.90% recovery rate.Expand the experiment with loose grinding intensity magnetic separation-classification Select-Shaker selected test processes,test achieved good ndicators:-0.037 mm fine-grained concentrate grade of 49.97%,32.44% recovery rate; coarse-grained concentrate grade of 57.33%, recovery rate 4.54%; the final concentrate grade of 50.78%, 36.98% recovery rate.In summary, using high intensity magnetic separation-classification Select-Shaker selection testing procedures to achieve comprehensive recovery processing ore tailings in iron minerals purposes. Poor performance due to fine-level shaker, grading out-0.037mm fine-grained ore, so that ore recovery further. Deficiencies is the ore in the S, P did not do targeted research, resulting concentrate containing S, P high.
