Zinc sulphate solution purification process is an important procedure in Zinc Hydrometallurgy. The quality of purified solution directly impacts on the the current efficiency of electrowinning and cathode zinc quality, the elimination of nickel and cobalt are the most difficult impurity. At present, replacement of zinc and xanthate are the widely applied ways in domestic industrial production to eliminate nickel and cobalt.β-naphthol method is also used to eliminate cobalt in some abroad factories. But this method is still on the laboratory research stage. There is no industrial application reported in domestic. Replacement way require to add excessive amounts of zinc powder, maintain a relatively high replacement temperature, in order to reduce consumption of zinc powder, usually also add salt or arsenic antimony salt to act as activator, in order to improve the quality of the net liquid; but this method also needs a lot of zinc powder, it is non-economic, and working environment is bad, the purification slime is difficult to deal with.Against the status quo, bringing forward a new method which use a new type of modified vulcanizator RnYm to replace xanthate purification to eliminate nickel and cobalt based on substantial information and data of heavy metal collector,nickel and cobalt eliminating from aqueous solution as well as other related methods.At first,we carried out test to eliminate nickel and cobalt in water system; then is elimination of nickel and cobalt in pure test research in zinc sulfate; finally Zinc output are carried out the actual removal of zinc sulfate solution Co-pilot.In the course of the study, first of all, we conducted a sufficiently thorough theoretical analysis to the reactions of the settlement of nickel and cobalt in sulfide method,based on which we conducted experimental studies from some aspects such as the pharmaceutical dosage, reaction temperature, reaction time, the system pH value etc. and identified the inherent law of these parameters to eliminate nickel and cobaltin this pharmaceutical.The results show that the nickel, cobalt elimination rate reached 99.44%,97.93%, when the ratio of pharmaceutical dosage and nickel, cobalt metal volume in aqueous is about 19:1 and 10:1 in the pure water system, purified liquid residue concentrations were also reduced to 0.1231mg/L and 0.5133mg/L (zinc electrowinning request≤1mg/L), at the same time we found that:Elimination of nickel compared to elimination of cobalt,the effective pH range is wider, the reaction is faster, reaction requiring temperature is lower; The elimination of nickel and cobalt impurities had different results in pure zinc sulfate system, the elimination rate of nickel from aqueous solutions is basicly unaffected from high concentration (100g/L) of zinc ions,but at the same time elimination rate of cobaltis only less than 10%, far below the purification requirements. So a interference verification test of zinc ion concentration gradient is followed, we found that they do not interfere with the settlement of cobalt when zinc ion concentration in aqueous solutions is lower than 800mg/L. For this situation, we carried out test by adding Fe3+, the results show that when there is adequate Fe3+ added will greatly enhance the efficiency of cobalt deposition, purified cobalt concentration of the residual liquid can completely meet the requirements of zinc electrowinning, but at the same time, vulcanizator consumption will also increase, it is not conducive to control production costs. A zinc hydrometallurgy of cobalt purification of the actual solution of the confirmatory test is advanced at the end.Contrast this method with the ways of xanthate and zinc-antimony salt to eliminate nickel and cobalt,we found this method has good effection of purification, especially nickel purification and pharmacy absolute consumption is small, production cost is low.
