Aluminium can be used as substitute conductive materials Due to the similar physical properties of Al and Cu. But the strong surface oxidation films takes many difficulties for welding and thus constricts the application field of Al. This paper discussed how to plate a layer of Sn on Al for preventing the formation of oxidation films in order to improve the welding properties of Al alloys.Mechanical vibration method was used to remove the oxidation films of Al matrix. And Al-Sn composites with fine combination interface were prepared by solid-liquid bonding method. The interfacial microstructure and composite phases were characterized by many kinds of analysis such as Transmission Electron Microscope(TEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD). The peeling strength was measured by peeling experiment for X-ray Diffraction. Al matrix was implanted by Sn ions to form Al/Sn interface, and the interface structure information was detected by using X-ray diffraction, and compared with the the Al/Sn interface prepared by mechanical vibration. The interfacial bond strength was tested by Drawing line test and thermal shock test. The welding strength of Al/Sn composites was tested by welding tests. The 7501 eddy-current instrument was used to detect the conductive properties of Al/Sn layered composite materials. Then basing the experiment results mentioned above, the feasibility about the composites substitutes for Cu in the electronic industry was prospected. The experimental results indicate that the interface of Al/Sn composites was fastness. The microcosmic interfaces of Al/Sn composites with a good diffused features combined with an increase of bonding area, which increasing the interface bonding strength. From the results of the line scan by EDX,one can see that the thickness of interfacial transition zone of Al/Sn layered composite materials is about 45nm. The bonding interface of Al/Sn layered composite materials was consisted of Al-Sn solid solution and mutual diffuse zone of Al and Sn. Al/Sn layered composite taken on the excellence both of aluminum and tin due to this kinds of interface combination. Basing on the fabrication processing is stable, simple and controllable, it could be applied in industrial fields. The results of XRD analysis and electron diffraction pattern calibration shows that The Sn atom inserted to the body center of Al matrix lattice, which leaded the transitional layer structure to have the characters both of body center cubic (BCC) and face center cubic (FCC) at the same time...
