In recent years, Ion chromatography(IC) is one of the fastest developing analytical methods due to its characteristics of speediness, good selectivity , high sensitivity. At present, IC has been used in the fields of environmental , agricultural, biochemical, industrial and food analysis. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS) has become the preferred trace iodine determination method. Contents of 6 anions in chemical fertilizer were simultaneously determined by IC. The methods for determination of iodine in aerosol samples in shanghai were established using IC-ICP-MS offline analysis.(1) Contents of 6 anions including F~-,Cl~-,NO2~-,Br~-,I~-,SCN~- in chemical fertilizer were simultaneously determined by ion chromatography(IC).The samples of chemical fertilizer was extracted ultrasonically with water and purified by passing through C18 and Ba solid phase extraction columns. The 6 anions in the extract were separated on IonPac AS 18(250 mm×4 mm)column with IonPac AG18(50mm×4mm)as guard column,by gradient elution with KOH solution as mobile phase and detected by conductivity detector. Values of D.L.(3S/N)found were in the range of 0.0012-0.0135mg/L.Testd for recovery and precision were made, giving values of recovery ranged from 80.3%-102.0%,and of RSD,s(n=6) ranged from 0.61%-6.5%.(2) The methods for determination of iodine were established using IC-ICP-MS. The samples were separated on IonPac AS18 column with 40mmol/L KOH with a flow rate of 1.0mL/min.The collection time of iodate and iodine were 3-5min and 14.8-16.8min.The collection samples were detected by ICP-MS and calculated by standard method. Optimising ICP-MS and injection equipment to reduce the iodine measuring error by the memory effect.Using new type ICP-MS to eliminate different signal values of different valence iodine.The method detection limit for iodine was 0.1ng/mL. RSD of iodate and iodine were 4.2% and 5.4%. The precision of the method is found to be in reasonable agreement with analytical request.(3) Iodine speciation in aerosol samples in Shanghai. The contents of iodate, iodide and soluble organic iodine(SOI) were1.87±0.86μg/g,32.67±21.08μg/g and 31.31±15.24μg/g for PM10, during the day , respectively. The contents of iodate, iodide and SOI were1.89±0.80μg/g,34.81±13.42μg/g and 38.65±16.28μg/g for PM10, during the night , respectively. The concentrations of iodate, iodide and SOI were 0.38±0.25 ng/m3,4.91±2.47 ng/m3and 4.81±2.40ng/m3 for PM10,during the day, respectively. The concentrations of iodate, iodide and SOI were 0.30±0.21 ng/m3,4.28±2.20 ng/m3and 4.76±2.82 ng/m3 for PM10,during the night, respectively. Iodine and SOI are the most abundant fraction, accounting for 48.35±4.44% and 48.48±4.34%. The concentration of iodine species in grading samples increased with decreasing diameters of particles.
