As a important bearing and driving component of hoisting, transportation and traction in project, wire rope is widely used in many major industries and sectors, such as: metallurgy, mining, construction, transportation and tourism. Wire rope would broken due to various factors in manufacture, such as: fatigue, corrosion and fray. Its methods of operation and the ability of bearing loads directly related to the safety of plant , life and property. Wire rope's broken reasons included internal defect and environment effect. Extending the service life of wire rope has internal and external factors. External factors included the using of its environment and maintenance, internal factors included the wire's material, drawing, quenching, etc.Using metallurgical analyzers to research internal characters of wire, including the steel's grain size and pearlite. Analyzing metallographic pictures in order to find the different and its reasons before and after cool drawn. Different wire has different grain size and pearlite, it will cause wire has different tenacity and mechanical properties. Steel's performance in tension and bending mode is difference. This paper is also studied the slight difference influence its toughness and ductility in breaking mode.Using breaking stretching machine, bending machine and reversing machine to research wire's bending, tension and torsion. Using SPSS software to analyze different wire diameter's tension and bending frequency. We can predict tension and bending frequency in each diameter if we can find a linear regression equation and a graph.In order to summarize its mechanical properties, to provide a reference value of the wire rope's further study and choose a suitable wire in actual production, we should comprehensive analyze wires interior and external part.
