The Ta-W alloy billets with different tungsten content were fabricated by powder metallurgy technology. Through cold rolling technology, we obtain different cold rolling reduction of Ta-W alloy foils. The structure and properties of Ta-W alloy foils with different cold rolling were investigated by the optical microscope (OM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and vickers hardness test. The conclusions were obtained as follows:1. With the increasing of cold rolling reduction, the micro-hardness of alloy Ta-W increases, and with tungsten content increasing, the micro-hardness of alloy Ta-W increases. When the total cold rolling deformation reaches 99%, the micro-hardness of Ta foil can approach 243HV, that of Ta-2.5wt% W alloy foil can approach 309HV, while that of Ta-7.5wt%W alloy foil can approach 359HV.2. In the cold rolling process, when the total cold rolling reduction is less than 80%, the deformation of Ta and Ta-W alloy foil material is not uniform, the cold rolling deformation is concentrated in a few grains. When the total cold rolling reduction is greater than 90%, the grain boundaries become blurred, showing a fibrous, that is significant uniform tension fibrous tissue along the rolling direction.3. After large cold rolling reduction, we will find deformation bands,shear bands and other organizations in Ta-W alloy foil, with the increasing of tungsten content and the cold rolling reduction, the more obvious of these microstructures.4. The main texture of cold-rolled Ta and Ta-W alloy foil is {001}<110>,{112}<110>.{111}<110>and{110}<110>. When the cold rolling reduction reaches 99%, the highest orientation density of Ta foil is{111}<110> texture,{001}<110> texture decreases, while the most stable orientation of Ta-2.5W, Ta-7.5W alloy foil is{001}<110> texture.
