At present, surface water pollution of our country is very serious. Not only high strength andwide range pollutant emissions, but the trend is exacerbated by the expansion. Petroleum organics isone of the main sources which impacts surface water environmental security. Detection and analysisof petroleum pollutants is an essential link of work to assess the pollution and protect the environment.Petroleum organics contains a variety of organic fluorescent substance with strong fluorescencecharacteristics. Therefore, application of fluorescence analysis as compositional analysis and speciesidentification is an important and effective means of petroleum pollutants.Three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy based can provide more complete information onthe fluorescence spectra, which have some advantages on high sensitivity, good selectivity, the lessrequired sample and it can’t destroy the sample structure. Presenting three-dimensional fluorescencespectroscopy combined with parallel factor analysis method detect petroleum organics in water, andmakes experimental demonstration.Experiment has established three kinds of trace petroleum organics dissolved in CCl4organicsolvent, which formats complex mixture system to simulating oil organics present in surface waterenvironment model, and sample concentration refer to national standards. Excitation and emissionwavelength measurement range of each sample have been selected. Using instrument scans the samplecontour spectrum and obtains three-dimensional fluorescence spectra and study the differences of puresamples through analysis spectra.Studying parallel factor analysis method theory can determine it as the basic means to identifyand measure the oil organics mixed system type and content. Combining parallel factor analysis withthree-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy, which can analysis species of mixed oil organics.According to the spectral characteristics of the sample under test, using the core consistent method candetermine the number of factors, the parallel factor analysis method can accurately predict the typeand content of the mixture of oil. Compared the processed spectroscopy with actual two-dimensionalwell fitting, it can estimate the predicted sample full organic matter content of each component.
