China is the biggest ceramic producing country with a long history in this field.Market demand of ceramic is increased caused by continuous increase of peoples’ livingcondition. As a kind of key equipment in the ceramic producing, tunnel kiln plays a hugerole, but now there is occurrence of low productivity and low product quality in domesticfiled with the reason of low tunnel kiln running control level. Tunnel kiln is a verycomplicated being-controlled object with feature of time variant and long delay timewhich make it become difficult to establish an accurate control model of tunnel kiln. Andthis limit action it is real difficult to realize traditional control method by themathematical model according to being-controlled object. Model-free adaptive controlalgorithm is an adaptive algorithm, which could do a outstanding control on the object oftime variant and of long delay time, with feature of low requirement of model, easyonline calculation and easy parameter adjustment. By the method of changing tunnel kilncontrol method, and of introducing adaptive control algorithm into control with betterability of adaptive and robustness, both of ceramic quality and productivity will beincreased greatly.With the development status of tunnel kiln with its basic product flow andsimulation analysis in the kiln control with model-free adaptive algorithm, control effectresult by each parameter in the model-free control algorithm is settled. By the method ofsimulation-comparing between model-free adaptive algorithm and PID algorithm, whatwe can get is that for the complicated being-controlled object, model-free adaptivealgorithm is better than PID control algorithm. On this basis jointed with particularfeature of PLC, model-free adaptive algorithm is programmed. During the process of kilncontrol, effect by model-free adaptive control program programmed by PLC is muchbetter than the one by PID in the field of time adjustment and overshoot.
