With the increasing of the urban sewage treatment capacity, sludge production ismore and more. Therefore, the problem of how to do deal with sludge has been generallyconcerned all over the world. Sludge energy-oriented use with its unique advantage hasbecome a focus in the study of international scholars. Besides, sludge and coal ganguemixed burn,which not only solved the problem of sludge combustion instability,butalso reasonably utilized coal gangue.First, combustion characteristics of sewage sludge, coal gangue and their mixed fuelwere researched by using thermogravimetric analysis. The results show that, with theincrease in the rate of sludge, ignition temperature of mixed fuel decreased gradually,burnout temperature, flammability index and integrated combustion characteristics indexdecreased first and then increased, and reached the highest point, when mixing50%sludge. Secondly, the kinetics analysis of the mainly weightlessness stage of fuel wasconducted by using the Coats-Redfern integral method and appropriate mechanismfunction. The results show that, coal gangue activation energy is higher than that of thesludge, and the activation energy of the mixed fuel decreased gradually with the increasein the proportion of sludge. Finally, to solve the problem of combustion affected bymoisture in sludge, the pre-dryed sludge technology by using waste heat of CFB boilerwas proposed. The technology was calculated and analysed by using three designconditions of Tangshan Kailuan DongFang Power Generation Co. Ltd. The results showthat, the technology saves energy significantly, not only can effectively reduce themoisture content of the sludge, but also can recycle numbers of waste heat of power plant.The results of the study provide the theoretical basis and technical reference fordesign and operation of CFB boiler mixed burning sludge and coal gangue, throughstudying co-combustion characteristics of sludge and coal gangue, and analysing the pre-dryed technology.
