| The temperature adjusting textile is popular with customers and enjoys a highly marketpotentiality because of its flexibility of changing temperature. But there is few internationalrecognized test standard to promote modification and development of temperature adjustingtextiles. This project aims to produce temperature adjusting textiles and optimize the finishingprocess taking use of the micro-PCM as starting material. A temperature adjusting textilesperformance tester is created to test, compare and evaluate temperature adjusting ability ofdifferent kinds textiles made in laboratory or on sale which lay a foundation for the establishmentof temperature adjusting textiles testing standards.This project is launched by Zhejiang Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and theDonghua University. the main contents and results are as following:Thermodynamic performance of the micro-PCM was tested in advance to provide basis forthe following textile finishing processes. Both coating and padding finishing processes are used tofinish micro-PCM onto cotton and polyester-cotton fabric and analysis thermodynamicperformance by temperature adjusting textiles performance tester. This project aims to optimizethe finishing process by changing single variant agent according to tempering performance testingresults. The result reveals that the phase change temperature of micro-PCM is20to40℃; Thecotton and polyester-cotton textiles finished by coating or padding finishing process, thecomprehensive performance of the cotton textile is better than that of polyester-cotton textile afterfinishing. The optimum coating finishing process is following: micro-PCM (50g/L), adhesive (90g/L), penetrating agent (20g/L), thickener (30g/L), curing temperature (100℃) and the curing time (3min); the optimum padding process is following: micro-PCM (50g/L), adhesive (80g/L),penetrating agent (15g/L), two dipping and rolling of pick-up (80%), curing temperature (100℃)and the curing time (3min).The self-made temperature adjusting textiles performance tester is a device that is able torecord the temperature on the surface of body and textile by inside temperature sensor to simulatebody covered with fabric in changing environment. In this way, temperature adjusting textiles andordinary textiles are tested simultaneously, which support to the analysis the temperature adjustingabilities between different textiles. Excel software was used to deal with the data to obtain thetemperature changing trend form which is able to survey temperature variation tendency andevaluate the temperature adjusting performance. All the raw data come from temperature adjustingtextiles performance tester and then be calculate to quantize temperature adjusting abilities.Compared with50percent outlast product on sale with the temperature adjusting ability of1085.48(℃·m-2·min-1), that of modified cotton and polyester-cotton textiles after finishing andnormal textile are786.53,70.024and0(℃·m-2·min-1)respectively. The temperature adjustingabilities are divided into five levels from50to850(℃·m-2·min-1) by taking200(℃·m-2·min-1) as alevel distance, which are named bad, normal, good, fantastic and perfect with the temperatureadjusting ability more than850(℃·m-2·min-1).According to the results of temperature adjusting textiles performance testing, the cottonand polyester-cotton textiles are required a certain ability to adjust temperature after coating andpadding finishing process; the cotton and polyester-cotton fabric after coating finishing reach thelevel of fantastic; the cotton and polyester-cotton fabric after padding finishing reach the level ofnormal; the temperature adjusting ability of cotton is better than that of polyester-cotton textilesalthough they are at the same level. |
