With the rapid development of oil and gas energy industry, oil and gas pipeline to super large diameter thin-walled and high pressure direction, creation of pipeline defects are also more frequently, security issues become increasingly obvious has become the hidden trouble of the smooth delivery of oil and gas, need to be solved to reduce the waste of energy resources and the incidence of accidents.In this paper, a line west of Shanshan- Hami of Xinjiang pipeline segment defects as the research object, analysis of the main causes of defects and the main types, in view of the planar type and volume defects based on the theory of fracture mechanics, based on the latest standards at home and abroad, using VB6.0 by use of object-oriented programming language developed in long-distance pipeline safety assessment software, combined with the ANSYS software to solve and analyze the distribution of the stress intensity factor of crack fracture parameters and the change of stress field contours of intelligent long-distance pipeline defect analysis and visualization. In this paper, the main conclusions are the following:(1) Through the software in the process of compiling increase error remind and warning function, operation provides convenient for non-work personnel, realize the practical application of the software evaluation, at the same time for long distance pipeline safety evaluation work reduces the difficulty, improves the accuracy and simplifies the evaluation process;(2) In the process of finite element model is established in this paper, the complex can be carried out the corresponding projection or entity on the rules, and convenient form symmetry model, the internal pressure tube was negligible soil modeling part of the larger, the result will be in the range of allowable error;(3) Using the software developed by defects of west-east gas pipeline safety evaluation, the results for the planar defects in the range of security and volume type defect also can maintain normal operation, but need to monitor use. The evaluation of long pipeline safety assessment technology for the engineering practice of intelligent and engineering provides the technical support.
