This thesis makes an investigation on the sawing control system of the tandern rolling production line for large section bar in one special steel plant as well as analyzing the requirement of the control system based on a solid field investigation. It focuses on three factors which restrict the sawing quality and efficiency of the sawing system: the rotating speed of the saw blade, position control of saw and the tracking and positioning of the section bar. firstly, it makes a survey on the theory of direct-current speed regulation and establishes a mathematical model based upon the parameters of the actual motor while simulating with Matlab, which sets a foundation for the actual system design. Subsequently, the system is adjusted with the speed controller Siemens 6RA70 and a good result is shown. Then, PID and PID fuzzy control methods are employed respectively to emulate the system model in the moving location control of the saw based on the electro-hydraulic proportional valve. The simulation curve shows that fuzzy PID controlling method is superior to the normal PID control method both on the respond speed and overshoot, which lays a foundation for the later application. Finally, in the tracking and positioning of the section bar, modules of section bar transferring and material tracking are developed according to the principles of tracking and positioning combined with the actuality, which satisfies the technical requirement of the system and realize the purpose of sawing automation and efficient sawing. This thesis will provide some reference for designing the sawing production line of rolling steel.
