As people’s environmental protection consciousness enhancement, organic silicone antifouling coatings with low surface energy are widely attention by more and more people. However, these antifouling coatings exist still some problems, such as adhesion with the substrate is relatively poor, the strength is not high, its painting system is complex and difficult to apply; which limit silicone antifouling coatings with low surface energy widely produced and used. In this paper, aiming at the above-mentioned problems, we prepared the organic silicone coatings with low surface energy without link paint and studied the mechanical, surface, anti-fouling and drag reduction properties of coatings.In the paper, we firstly prepared the organic silicone antifouling coatings without link paint with different content and different molecular weight of silicone oil. And measured the performance of flexibility, impact resistance, adhesion with the substrate, shore hardness, elastic modulus, water absorption rate, water contact angle, surface morphology, antifouling, drag reduction performance and so on. The results showed that:(1) The organic silicone antifouling coatings with low surface energy without link paint have good flexibility and impact resistance. The adding of silane coupling agent can significantly improve the adhesion strength between coating and substrate. With the increase of the content and the molecular weight of the silicone oil, the elastic modulus of the coating is decreased; (2) With the increase of the content of silicone oil, the surface energy of coatings gradually reduced, and when the addition amount of the silicone oil is 6% and the molecular weight of silicone oil is 28000, the square of the produce of coating’s surface energy and elastic modulus is minimum. The contact angle of diiodomethane of organic silicone coatings gradually increases in seawater immersion process and still maintained above 130°after 30d. (4) The addition of silicone oil relatively large impact on barnacles and some sea creatures, but the effect is no inhibitory effect on seaweed plant. (5) The torque of silicone coatings decrease with the increase of molecular weight of silicone oil, when the speed reach 18.3 knots, compared with the silicone coating(molecular weight of silicone oil is 1750), The drag reduction rate of silicone coating is 1.5%.In the paper, we study on the effect of silane coupling agent (Single amino, hydrogen peroxide radical, methacryloyl oxygen radical, double amino) on the properties of silicone coating above. The results showed that:(1)The silicone coating adding silane coupling agent with double amino has the best adhesion with the substrate and minimum modulus of elasticity. (2) The silicone coatings adding silane coupling agent with single amino and double amino have a high rate of water absorption and a high elastic modulus after absorbing 。 The contact angle of diiodomethane between the seawater and organic silicone coatings gradually increased in seawater immersion process and still maintained above 130° after 30d.(3) The silicone coatings adding silane coupling agent containing amino group have lower surface energy, but the surface hydrophobic stability of the silicone coating with single amino is relatively poor. The silicone coating adding silane coupling agent with double amino has the minimum square of the produce of coating’s surface energy and elastic modulus.(4) when the speed reach 18.3knots.The silicone coating adding silane coupling agent with double amino has the minimum torque and the reduction effect is the best. In short, the silane coupling agent with double amino is not only beneficial to improve the adhesion between the silicone coating and the substrate, but also obtain better antifouling and drag reduction performance. |
